History of baseball: Baseball began around 1792 in the
U.S. The first team to play under modern rules were
the New York Knickerbockers. The club was founded
on September 23, 1845. In 1870, a conflict formed
between professional and amateur ballplayers. The
NABBP split into two groups. The National Association
of Professional Baseball Players operated from 1871
through 1875, and many people say it was the first
major league. Its amateur counterpart disappeared
after only a few years. Many other leagues were
founded but were not successful.

The Black Sox scandal was a name given
to the conspiracy to mess up the 1919 World
Series. Eight different players were hired to
mess up the game so that the other team
would win. Some of the people involved were
Shoeless Joe Jackson, “Lefty” Williams, Oscar
Felsh, and Fred Mcmullen. All of the players
and staff that were involved in the scandal got
arrested and banned from the MLB.

Braves:
The Braves are a major league
team in Atlanta Georgia. They have
won 17 National League pennants,
and 3 World Series. The Braves
play at Turner Field.

Pitching
Not all pitchers pitch the same
way but there are some simple
steps to throw strikes. First, you
need to know how to grip the ball.
You can grip the ball in a four
seam grip, a two seam grip, a
slider, and a knuckle ball.

Batting:
Batting is what some would say
is the best part of baseball. But
if you aren't successful it might
not be much fun. Here is a
picture on how to bat.
