“Eve, yuck!”

“Why are you licking that ant?” Kayson squeals.

“Oh no! It’s gone...”

“Where did the ant go?” he wonders.

“Gross! Get it off of me!”

“Yucky ants!” Kayson shooed the ants away, scared.

“Be gentle, Kayson!” says Tori.

Kayson carefully picks up the ant and places it on the ground.
 Eve sniffs the ant.
 “No, Eve!” Tori says.

Eve, the dog, sniffs again and looks at Tori, confused.

The ant begins its journey to pick up crumbs from their summer sandwiches. Even some of his ant friends join in.

“See, Kayson, ants are superheroes of crumbs!”

“But they’re gross!” exclaims Kayson.

“They’re not gross, they just look different! If you move them safely to the ground, they create tunnels in the dirt they use as homes.”

“Tunnels?!?” Kayson says, confused.

“Yes, tunnels! Those tunnels make it easier for plants to grow, too! So we can see pretty flowers bloom.”

“But Eve ate it!”

“Oh no, Eve! Don’t eat the ants!” Kayson shouts. “They have homes that are tunnels!”

Eve begins to sniff around until she sees a pile of dirt with ants crawling in and out.

“Quick, Kayson! Save them!”
