Have you ever wondered how cars are made? Henry Ford loved cars and machines. He helped make cars easier and faster to build. Let's learn about Henry Ford and his big ideas!

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, in Michigan. He grew up on a farm and became fascinated by machines. As a young boy, he enjoyed taking things apart to understand how they worked.

As Henry grew older, his interest in machines continued to grow. He experimented with engines and built his first gasoline-powered vehicle, called the Quadricycle, in 1896. This was an important step toward his dream of making automobiles.

In 1903, Henry Ford and other investors started the Ford Motor Company. Ford wanted to build dependable cars that more people could afford. His company would eventually become one of the most recognized automobile manufacturers in the world.

In 1908, Ford introduced the Model T. It was a dependable automobile designed to handle the rough roads of the time. The Model T became very popular because it was practical and became more affordable as production improved.

Building a car used to take a lot of time. Ford and his workers developed a moving assembly line that made production much faster. Instead of building an entire car in one place, workers completed different tasks as the car moved through the factory.

Look at all of those cars! This is a real picture of a Ford factory from long ago. The cars are lined up while workers build them. Ford found ways to make cars faster so more cars could be made.
