Once upon a time, not so long ago, on April 11, 2016, a beautiful princess named Aubriella was born to King Pierre and Queen Kerlie.

Although Prince Gabriell was three years older than Princess Aubriella, they were thick as thieves and did everything together. From building castles to exploring the gardens, every adventure was better when they shared it.

Princess Aubriella loved her family and the happy life they shared. King Pierre and Queen Kerlie often took her and Prince Gabriell to the beach, the pool, and different parks. Whether they were building sandcastles, splashing in the water, or playing on the swings, her favorite part was being together.

Everything in Princess Aubriella’s life seemed to be going so well—until one afternoon, she overheard Queen Kerlie crying and speaking a language she had never heard before. Aubriella paused in the doorway. She couldn’t understand the words, but she could hear the sadness in her mother’s voice.

Princess Aubriella hurried to the queen’s side and dropped to her knees.
“Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
Queen Kerlie began explaining what was troubling her. But through her tears, she didn’t realize that her daughter couldn’t understand what she was saying.

Worried, Princess Aubriella rushed to find her brother, Prince Gabriell, and her father, King Pierre.
“Come quick!” she cried. “Something has happened to the queen!”
She took her father’s hand and pointed toward the room where her mother sat.

Queen Kerlie pulled Princess Aubriella close and turned the phone toward her.
“This is your brother, Prince Ellji,” she said gently. “He is my firstborn. I had him before I came to the United States. He lives in Haiti, where I’m from, and he speaks Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and English—just like me.”
Aubriella looked closely at the boy on the screen. She had another brother!

Aubriella was overjoyed to know her mother was okay—and even more excited to discover she had another brother.
“Mom, when is he coming to live with us?” she asked eagerly.
“Soon, baby,” Queen Kerlie said gently. “One day, we will all be together.”
The princess beamed and waved to Ellji. She could hardly wait for that day to come.
