Jesus saw that they had not eaten for days, so he called 

his disciples and said to the,"I have mercy for these 

people; they have been with me for three days and have 

not eaten. If I send them home they might faint on the 

way because some come from far off distances."

But the disciples said to Jesus "But where do we find 

enough food to feed these many people?"

But then Jesus asked them "How many bread do you 

have?"

They replied "Only seven Jesus".

Jesus told the crowd to sit down on the ground and they 

did.

After Jesus had thank the Lord for bread he broke it into 

many pieces then gave it to his disciples to give, and so they 

did. They also had fish so once again Jesus thanked and then 

gave it to the people.

After the people had finished eating, the disciples picked up 

the leftovers and saw that there was about seven basketful 

of broken bread. After they left for Dalmanutha.

As they left the Pharisees started to ask Jesus questions as 

he was about to leave.

They said "If you are the Christ give us a sign from heaven".

Jesus replied in sadness "Why do you ask for miraculous 

signs? There is no sign".

Then Jesus left for Dalmanutha.

Jesus replied to him "Be careful, watch out for the yeast 

of the Pharisees and that of Herod."

When the disciples were about to rest they discussed their 

problem with no bread. As Jesus walked in he knew what 

they had been discussing and said to them

"Why are you still talking about having no bread? Do you 

still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do 

you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? 

And don't you remember? When I broke 5 loaves for the 5 

thousand, how many basketful of pieces did you pick 

up?".

"Twelve" They said to Jesus.

"And when I broke 7 loaves to 4 thousand, how many 

basketful did you pick up?". Jesus asked.

They said "Seven".

He said " Do you still not understand?"
