One day Jamal, Jack, Jake, and Jenna were on 

a friends pirate ship when Jack went up to all 

the pirates and said "Look at what I found... 

What are the beatitudes?" In his hands he was 

a holding a list that had all of the beatitudes on 

it. Jake said "The beatitudes are things that you 

should do in your every day life to help you 

become a better person."  

"The first beatitude says Blessed are the poor in 

spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, 

whats that supposed to mean?" said Jack. "This 

means that instead of being overly attached to 

something we should share it with others." said 

Jamal. Jenna said "I have an idea! We should 

live this out by sharing our gold with other 

ships."

Jack than said "The second beatitude says 

blessed are they who mourn, for they will be 

comforted... I don't get it." "Well, this means if 

someone is sad or has recently lost a loved one 

that you should help them and give them 

comfort." said Jenna. "Hey we should do this 

by helping and comforting Jeff, his parrot died 

last week." said Jenna. Jamal than said, "Good 

idea!"

"Okay, the third beatitude says, blessed are the 

meek, for they will inherit the land, this one 

sounds confusing." Jack said. "Well, it's saying 

that you should know God gave you talents and 

you use them for the good to show love for 

God and others." Jenna replied. "Instead of 

trying to break into other peoples ships, we 

should help each other go fishing and find 

treasure together!" said Jake.

"The fourth beatitude says Blessed are those 

who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for 

they will be satisfied. Does this mean to be 

people who search and create goodness in the 

world and to put your trust in God?" said Jack. 

"Now your getting it!" said Jamal. "We can do 

this by praying to God every day in the 

morning, every time before you eat, and before 

you go to bed." said Jenna.
