Tucker and Peanut were two of the happiest
dogs in the whole city. They lived in a nice
house, with nice owners, nice toys, and a
nice backyard to play in.

They loved to play with other dogs who lived
around the neighborhood. But the thing they loved
the most was going to the farm to run and chase
the cows.

On a very special day, Tucker and Peanut were called
into the house and the owners placed the special farm
collars on the dogs. Tucker and Peanut knew what it
meant if they got to wear the special farm collars,
they were going to the farm!! The dogs became very
excited and raced to the truck while loudly barking, as
to ring the alarm.

As they rode to the farm, their tails wagged
and their ears flopped in the wind. Soon
enough the truck slowed to a stop and the
dogs jumped out to play.

The dogs ran up the road so
happy and so free. As Tucker
slowed down to watch for his
owner far behind, Peanut kept
running farther up the road. He
ran past the farm house where he
saw the cats laying in the sun. He
ran past the tractor that was
moving the hay. And he ran past
the garden that was growing all
the delicious fruits and
vegetables.

Peanut finally stopped running when he
reached the herd of cows in the pasture. The
cows began to moo loudly as Peanut joined the
herd. While in the herd, Peanut barked at the
cows and chased the calves. He was having a
great time until he noticed that his best bud
Tucker was not there playing with him. Nor
was his owner in sight waving a happy limb.

Back down the road, Tucker
slowed to a walk with his owner.
Tucker looked up and down the
farm road but there was no sign
of Peanut. Tucker did not like that
he could not see his best bud
Peanut around the farm. Tucker
knew that he must do something
to tell his owner Peanut might be
in harm.

To get his owner’s attention, Tucker
decided to run and hope his owner
would follow. After a few quick
running steps, Tucker’s owner
noticed he was running very fast
and decided to follow him. Tucker
decided to run faster to find best
dog friend. To help find his pal
faster he decided to bark and bark,
for it would hopefully help in the
end.

Peanut heard barking in the distance and knew
it had to be his best bud Tucker. Still in the
middle of the cow herd, Peanut decided to
start barking back in hopes of getting Tucker
here to play with him and the cows. Once he
started barking all the cows became a little
frightened and began to moo.

How would Tucker find him if all the cows
were mooing over his barking thought
Peanut. Peanut then had the idea to bark
louder which would make the cows moo
louder and Tucker would be sure to find
him with the herd.

Bark!

Tucker and his owner heard the loud mooing
and barking and ran to the group of cows. The
owner called Peanut’s name a few times and
waited for the dog to emerge. On the owner’s
third call, Peanut came sprinting out of the
herd of cows toward his owner and Tucker.

Peanut was so happy to be back with his best friend and to
see his owner again he ran and gave them both sloppy
kisses. Having found each other again, the two dogs went
marching down the farm road toward the truck to take
them home. Each wanted to rest after having a day to
roam.
