The adventures of the blue moon

I shiver in the dark night. Alone and cold, stranded. I have 

lived this way all of my life, in a cave on an island, by 

myself. I don’t know how I got here, and who my parents 

where. My memory is blank until my 12th birthday, when I 

found myself here wondering, what am I doing here? But 

tonight feels different somehow, different than the other 364 

days that have passed. Then I remember that tomorrow is 

my birthday. Does the island somehow know tomorrow is the 

day I become a teenager? My birthday is the only number 

that sticks in my head. 5/6/07. May 6th, 2007. This year is 

2020, a year of big things. I can feel it in my bones.
