Once upon a time there was a student teacher named
Mrs. Popp. All she wanted to do was teach and help children.
Every night she dreamed of her own classroom that she
would someday have.

Mrs. Popp learned that she would be visiting a 3rd grade
classroom first. She really wanted to impress the students,
teachers, and staff at this new school, so she created a few
goals. She hoped to gain new management skills and learn
how to plan units.

Mrs. Popp quickly learned all about her students. Along
the way, she found out that it was best to be overly prepared
to teach the children. When she was excited and prepared, so
were the students! She was very proud of this experience.

Mrs. Popp tried every day to get better at managing
her class; this was one of her goals. The students
listened and liked to hear Mrs. Popp teach every day. She
did a great job forming a special bond with each student.

During her time at St. Ansgar, Mrs. Popp was able to
take part in some amazing things. She learned all about
Daily 5 time, and was able to teaching guided reading!
This instruction was important because she was able to
build stronger relationships with each child. She decided
that Daily 5 time will be a part of her future classroom.

Mrs. Popp's last day at St. Ansgar was so fun! They
had a popcorn going away party. Mrs. Popp was given a
book with a letter from each student inside. "I will
keep this forever!" she exclaimed.

Her next visit was to Charles City Middle School in
an 8th grade reading and language arts class. Mrs. Popp
was so nervous! She couldn't contain herself. "Would
these new students like me?" she thought. "They are so
big and scary! What will I do?"
