This war was against Great 

Britain and the thirteen 

American colonies for the 

Independence of the colonies. 

Benjamin Franklin helped draft 

the Declaration of Independence 

with a committee. He had many 

titles which include philosopher, 

writer, and inventor.

This was created to defend American 

from Great Britain. The Second 

Continental Congress formed this 

and this was led by George 

Washington.

The purpose of Daughters of Liberty was to 

boycott British goods. They really advised 

Americans to wear homemade fabrics to not 

wear British clothing/fabrics. Their goal 

was to become more independent from 

England.

America fought England for 

independence, England eventually 

lost the war and we gained 

independence.

The French were Americans ally that 

helped America win the war in an indirect 

way. They provided things ammunition, 

uniforms, troops and most importantly 

naval assistance. 

Commander in chief for the continental 

army. He was soon the first president of 

the United States. He represented 

Virginia.

Hessian were German mercenaries hired to fight 

for the British by King George III. This did 

not work out because they did not care about 

who would win the war. They only cared about 

personal gain.

Independence is what America fought for 

from England. The long awaited goal soon 

achieved. Murica'

Member of Sons and Liberty, helped with 

the Declaration of Independence, and 

treaty that ended the war.

At the time of the American Revolution 

King George III ruled Great Britain.

In the battle, a shot fired in Lexington 

sparked the start of war. By the end of this 

battle, the British retreated to Boston

Minutemen were militiamen who are called 

minutemen because of their last minute 

training.

America had naval assistance from France. 

This was a great advantage. 

The month of October in the year of 

1777 was the toughest month for 

American soldiers the conditions 

were very rough.

Paul revere is known for his famous 

midnight ride warning the people of 

Lexington that, "the british are 

coming".
