Far out to Sea lived a little mermaid called Merissa.

She spent her days playing with all the little creatures that lived in the Sea.

There were Big Fish and Little Fish, Jelly fish and Turtles.

But Merissa's favourite friend was a little Seal called Slippy.

Merissa and Slippy would spend all day swimming and floating on the waves with all their little friends.

They would swim about the Sea always looking to meet new friends that could join in all the fun.

Sometimes they would pop their heads out of the water to watch the Boats go by.

This little girl would have to be a very special little girl indeed.

A little girl that was kind and loving. 

Slippy said he would help to look for this very special little girl.

So Slippy set out across the waves.

He would swim and swim for hours looking for a little friend for Merissa.

Then one day, when the waves carried him

to a little place called East Bay, he saw a beautiful house, all Shiny and Bright.

Slippy could see a beautiful lady at the window

looking out to Sea.

She was holding a little baby in her arms.

Could this be the special little girl that Merissa was looking for.

Slippy swam as fast as he could to find Merissa Mermaid.

Merissa was lying at the edge of a rock in the sunshine, her hair was shining golden in the sunlight.

Slippy was so excited to tell Merissa Mermaid that he had found her the perfect friend.



All the little fish gathered round to hear his story about the little baby living in the Shiny Bright house by the Sea.

The Next day, they all swam back to East Bay

To look for the lady with the baby.

And there living in the Shiny Bright house at the edge of the water, was a very perfect little baby.

A baby called Madison and they knew she would grow up to be a very special little girl indeed!

As the waves gently rolled onto the shore, Merissa Mermaid saw the Little baby Madison, she vowed to look after her forever.

As the years went by Merissa Mermaid would swim to East Bay every day, lie on a rock watching over the little baby Madison.

When the fierce wind blew in from the Sea, Merissa would sing in a beautiful soft voice, so that the little Madison wouldn't be frightened of the wind.
