The sun shown through the brilliant colors of the fall day as the beautiful black and white mare wandered through the forest.
Impish elves danced in the morning light which whispered through the falling leaves reaching the ground without a sound.
The beautiful mare lifted its' head high as an unknown soul approached on its right side. She stared as the image came into view and shook her head, her soft mane flying.

As the human drew closer to the wild mare, she backed away watching him intently, with great caution... humans were not to be trusted by the creatures of the land.
The story was told around the countryside of the "beasts" which were stealing the land from the creatures, how they slaughtered needlessly and destroyed all the creatures had cherished.

As the human approached, the mare put her head down slightly and backed away, watching as the human raised his sword and charged towards her.
She lifted her head and nuzzled against the human just before the sword struck her between the ears.
The human looked at the lovely creature in shock as he felt her soft fur on his face, but unable to stop the down-swing of the sword.

He stared in shock at the kindness the creature had shown, not expecting it, as he had been told the creatures were evil and untrustworthy.
As he watched the mare stumble to the ground, he realized what he had done was wrong, and fell to his knees beside her, crying out in anguish. His sobs echoed through the forest and up to the heavens, piercing the air and splitting the silence.
As he wept over the beautiful mare, a sparkling light shown down from the heavens and a winged creature appeared beside the dying mare.
