PIROT MY TOWN

Pirot is a town with 50 000 inhabitants, located in the south-eastern Serbia.

It has a rich history and a lot of monuments from the past. One of them is Kale Castle from XIV century.

The Nisava river runs through the town and divides it in two parts, an old one (Tijabara) and new one (Pazar).

Pirot has four primary schools, four secondary schools, a special education school and one faculty. This is our school.

Vuk Karadzic Primary School, Pirot

A museum "Ponisavlje" represents our old tradition and customs. It has a rich collection of pottery, furniture, rugs and shows the way people lived in Pirot in the past.

Pirot is famous for its hand made rug called KILIM which is unique in the world by the way it is made and by its colorful patterns.

There are many churches and monuments in Pirot, telling a story about the religion and history of its inhabitants.

Young people usually spend their time going in for some sports, playing musical instruments, attending different events or visiting cafes.
