Once upon a time there was a little, silver robot called Iron. His friends sometimes call him Fe, which comes from the word "ferrum" which means iron in Latin.

Iron had many siblings and relatives who all belonged to a family called the Metals. Iron is one of the oldest members of the Metals family as he's been around since ancient times. All the members of the Metals family are good conductors of electricity and heat and most of them are solids.

Once a year, all the members of the Metals family would have a family reunion in the local park.

"Oh no, I'm late for the family reunion", thought Iron as he bolted out the front door of his house. He was in such a hurry that he forgot to check the weather forecast like he usually does each morning.

Iron didn't want everyone to start the family reunion without him, so he raced like the wind through the streets until he reached the park.

"You're finally here", called Nickel to Iron. "We thought you weren't going to make it on time. Well, now that you're here we can start the family reunion."

Titanium laid out some snacks and within no time everyone was talking to one another, having a good time when suddenly........

It started to rain!

"Oh no, I didn't bring an umbrella", said Iron in dismay. "I didn't know it was going to rain! If I don't find shelter soon I'll rust from the rain!"

"Didn't you check the weather forecast like you usually do each morning?" asked Gold. "It said that it was going to rain this morning. That's why Potassium, Sodium, Lithium, Rubidium, Francium and Caesium aren't arriving until later."

"Did anyone bring an umbrella?" asked Iron.

"No", said Platinum. "The rain doesn't effect us so we didn't bother bringing one. Maybe you could hide under a tree until the rain stops."

So Iron sat under the closest tree and waited for the rain to stop. He waited for so long that he fell asleep
