Susie Shape Spotter was the smartest student Side and Angle Elementary School had seen. She could spot shapes everywhere she went.

When Susie Shape Spotter got on the bus, she started talking to Tommy about the shapes she thought she would see on the way to school.

Tommy sat there listening but never responded. He did not know his shapes. Susie Shape Spotter decided that she would teach Tommy about shapes on the way to school.

As the bus rolled to the next stop, Susie Shape Spotter showed Tommy his first shape.

"Tommy, do you see the windows on that house?" Tommy nodded. "Those are squares. Squares have four equal sides and four angles." Tommy smiled and nodded again. He liked learning about shapes.

The bus door screeched shut and the big yellow bus rolled on.

When they got to the next bus stop, Susie Shape Spotter yelled, "Tommy, rectangle!" There in the field stood a barn with rectangle doors." A rectangle has four sides and four angles. The opposite sides are equal. Two sides are long and two sides are short. Do you understand?" Tommy said, "Yes , this is awesome!"

Again, the bus door screeched shut and the big yellow bus rolled on.
