Once upon a time there was a princess. Her name was Abigail. She lived just beyond the forest. Abigail loved to walk in the forest and find beautiful flowers.

2
One day Abigail walked a little to far while picking flowers. She was lost and didn’t know her way back.

3
She didn’t give up. She had been walking in the same direction and decided to turn around and started walking.

4
While she was walking she heard a noise. It sounded far at first. She wasn’t sure what the sound was or where it was coming from. She decided to walk a little faster.

5
She heard the sound again and it made her stop. It sounded like a laugh. She looked up and she could see a little witch flying on her broom between the trees.

6
“I see a princess far from her castle” laughed the witch. “Please don’t hurt me” said Princess Abigail. “Why child, why would I hurt you?” asked the witch. “You sound very mean” said Princess Abigail. “Would you like to come to my cottage for a glass of warm milk and cookies?” asked the witch.

7
“That sounds very nice” said Princess Abigail. “I would love too.” Princess Abigail and the witch began walking to cottage. The Princess was not paying attention which direction she was going. The witch knew the Princess would not be able to find her way home.

8
Princess Abigail began to get worried because she did not recognize any of the flowers or trees around her. The witch said: “Here we are Princess.” Princess Abigail thought: “wow this does not look like a witch's cottage!”

9
The cottage smelled wonderful.
You could smell warm delicious chocolate cookies cooking inside. The Princess forgot all about feeling scared. She couldn’t wait to taste the delicious chocolate cookies!

10
They walked into the cottage and witch asked the Princess to take a seat at the table. “You sure are a nice witch” said the princess. “Well thank you” replied the witch.

11
The witch placed a plate of cookies on the table. As Princess Abigail reached for the cookies something grabbed her hand. It was a piece of magic rope. “You are mine now Princess Abigail. You’re too far from home and no one knows where you are” laughed the witch.

12
Princess Abigail began to cry. She was all alone and afraid. But there was someone not so far away that heard her cry.
