Introduction
In this book we will "Discover Nature One
Flower At A Time". We will learn interesting facts about each flower and what they need to grow. Some you may recognize while others you may not have known existed.

Aa
This flower is called the African Daisy.
African Daises come in different colors such as
white, yellow, orange and apricot. They need full
sun and light dry soil in order to grow.

Bb
This flower is seen in many flower
arrangements. It is called Baby's Breath
and can be either white or pink. They grow best
in areas that have full or partial sun and rich light
soils.

Cc
This flower blooms in late Spring and it
comes in different shades of green, pink, purple, yellow and orange. It is called the Calla Lily. The word Calla means "beautiful" in Greek.

Dd
This flower is the official flower of the city
of Seattle. It is the Dhalia flower. Although it comes from a warm climate it does require to be in cooler areas. Dahlias need full sun and constant moisture.

This flower can be seen in either yellow,
pink, or white. It is theEvening Primrose flower.
It is easy to care for and is fragrant, it even
attracts birds. It requires full sun in order to grow.

This flower blooms in the Summer and
can be seen in blue, pink and white. It is the Foxglove flower. It requires rich, moist soil and partial sun. Foxgloves can grow 1 to 8 feet.

This flower is the state flower to Kentucky,
it is the Goldenrod. It's color is chartreuse(between green and yellow) and gold. It can
bloom during Summer of Fall and will grow between 6 inches to 8 feet. They also require partial sun and shade.

This flower has about 100 different species. It's color can be blue, pink, white or yellow. Other species may be red or purple. The Hydrangea requires partial shade and partial sun. It must also have moist soil.

This flower is unique in that it can bloom in
any of the seasons, it is theIris flower. It's color
can be blue, purple, orange or white. When not
in bloom the Iris may have a sword like shape appearance.

This flower is well know for its strong
sweet fragrance. It is the Jasmine flower.
Jasmine's grow best in moist soil with full sun
and partial shade. Can reach heights between 8
and 20 feet.

This flower comes from Australia and is
drought resistant. It is the Kangaroo Paw flower. The Kangaroo Paw needs a well drained soil
with full sun. It's color can be green, orange, pink, red and white. It blooms during Spring and Summer.

This flower is a fragrant flower and can
be blue, pink or white. It is the Lilac flower.
In some areas Lilacs are a big deal, such as Rochester, New York where they hold a yearly Lilac festival. Lilacs require sun with well drained soil.

This flower is the official state flower to
two states, Mississippi and Louisiana. It is the Magnolia flower. It grows 20 feet or higher
and can grow up to 50 feet wide. It's color
can be pink, white or blue.

This flower is the most popular flower in
Germany. It is called the Narcissus flower. It's color can be orange, white or yellow. The Narcisuss flower primarily blooms in Spring.

One of the most common houseplants is
the Orchid flower. The orchids colors can be pink, yellow, orange, lavender and more. They require a humid environment and can last six months or more.

This flower is the state flower to Indiana.
It is the Peony flower. Peonies need partial
sun and partial shade. They bloom in Spring
and can be seen in red white or pink.

This flower can be seen on the side of
highways and bike trails. It is the Queen Anne's Lace flower. Queen Anne's Lace is a white
flower and is known to be the summer wild flower.
It needs full sun with partial shade in order to grow.

This flower is one of the most recognized
flowers. It is the Rose. Roses can be seen in yellow, pink, red, and more. The colors have
even been given meanings. Roses need to be grown in well drained soiled areas with sunlight.

This flower is not only the national flower
to Russia but it is also the state flower of Kansas.
It is the Sunflower. Sunflowers can be red, yellow or orange. They need full sunlight and moist soil
to grow. However they can withstand the occasional dry spell.
