Once upon a time, there were two squirrels. They were twins. The two had always been inseparable. Their names were Jenny and Jacob. They had both been working at the acorn processing plant since they got out of high school. They even worked together in the same department of the acorn processing plant. The only difference between the two is that Jenny invested in a 401 (k) and Jacob invested in a traditional IRA for their retirement.
2
Their mother had always told them to be careful with their money and not to make any rash decisions. One of her children had always valued and took her advice. The other always thought that they knew best. This would come back to haunt them when it came to investing in their retirement. One was careful, and one was not. This is why Jenny would end up with $210,000 for retirement and Jacob would end up with only $105,000. The acorn processing plant decided to match Jenny's contributions in the 401 (k).
3
They did not match Jacob's traditional IRA. Jenny tried to tell her brother many years ago that this would happen, but Jacob is always right in his mind. Jenny had told him that a traditional IRA was too risky and a 401 (k) was the safer choice, but her brother was too stubborn and arrogant to listen. Their mother always knew that would get him in trouble. In the end, Jenny lives in a Condo on the beaches of Hawaii, and Jacob lives in a senior citizen apartment complex in Florida.

This shows that you need to be careful with your money, or it will come back to hurt you in the end.
