Fables

The Dog and the Cat    by: Sunny and Brad

Once there was a dog and he lived in a neighborhood. He met a cat that lived in the same 

neighborhood. The dog had never met a cat so he didn’t know what to do with the cat. They 

became friends. So they played , and sang, and laughed all day. Then, suddenly a group of mean 

dogs came and the dog and the cat were frightened. ‘’Please don’t hurt me said the dog’’. 

Begged the dog.‘’We didn’t come to hurt you, but we came two hurt you’re friend’’. Replied the 

dog. ‘’What’’. The two friends asked.‘’Dogs are supposed to chase cats not be friends with them’’. 

Shout the dog pack.‘’No , and I never will do that.’’ hollered the dog.The dog and the cat and 

they hid in the dumpster.‘’I think we lost them.’’ whispered the dog ‘’I thought for a minute there 

I was going to be a bag of bones ‘’.the cat cried. The dog snickered. Than the dog thought that 

he would be popular and cool if he chase the cat around. The dog thought again that he doesn’t 

want to hurt the cat’s feelings ,so he decided to go on pranking him instead. The dog planned a 

perfect afternoon with the cat , but the dog sets a lot of pranks for the cat.Then the dog called 

his friend and his friend said yes.‘’ Meet me at 6:00 at the dog park.’’the dog said strongly

Then the cat over heard them .Then the dog made a second phone call to the cat and planned an 

afternoon.   First they went to the park and they went sliding.The dog set a hammer on the slide, 

and the cat broke his leg. I’m sorry, but I was just wanted to be funny.   I didn’t mean to hurt 

you. To go into the.    Oh please forgive me.   Cried the dog.   ‘’ Ok, as long as you never do that  

again ’’ said the cat angerly.   The dog lied.   He was going to hire two bulldogs to go into the 

pound and scare the dog catcher away and free all the dogs in the pound.   The dog new the dogs 

would chase his friend the cat.   All right then it was time for the ultimate prank!   He told the cat 

to meet him at the pound.   The cat was to disturbed because of his broken leg and because of 

the hammer coming out of nowhere.   What the dog didn’t know is that the cat new his evil plan.  

The cat knew ten dogs where at the pound, so he set out eleven buckets of mud.   One for each 

dog.“ Know the dog will get pranked how it thought the cat.   Then, the cat got to the pound.  

The cat put supper spicy pepper in ten of the buckets.   The mud went straight to their eyes.

The cat purposply didn’t put it in the extra bucket.   Then , then the dog said’’ sorry. ‘’

‘’ I’m sorry’’ said the dog.

‘’ It’s ok and never do that again ‘’ said the cat.  

Then the cat realized that this is a pound.   Since he had a broken leg he couldn’t run.   They 

became friends again because friends don’t prank friends even if it makes you look cool to others

The Lion and the Bear

Once on a dark night, a lion went to a bear’s 

cave.   The lion was looking for food 

until…the bear woke up.    The bear caught 

the lion.   The lion said, “Please spare my life 

and I will return the favor and save your life 

in return. ‘ ’The bear laughed and decided to 

let him go. The next day , the bear was 

running and got caught in a cage. The bear 

was trying to get out before the trapper 

returned. As hard as he tried, he couldn't 

get out. Then the lion saw the bear trapped. 

He ran over to get him out. The bear was 

very happy that he didn’t jump to 

conclusions and that he trusted his new best 

friend the lion.

The lesson was learned to not jump to 

conclusions when meeting new friends.  

                            The girl with a special talent By:Kayla V. and Destiny       

One day a little four year old girl named Ella was playing on a little old squeaky swing. Ella turned the swing 

around where it would face the bushes. She glanced with her eye and saw the bushes moving. She walked slower 

and slower creeping until she got closer. Ella looked over the bushes and saw a trail going all the way past the 

hill. She decided to follow the trail. She walked for hour’s .Then she was surrounded by trees and creepy sounds. 

Later on, it was dark. Ella was scared and cold. She didn’t know her way back home. She had a cape attached to 

her dress. She had unattached it and put it on the ground. She cuddled of next to the tree and could only think 

about how worried her parents might be. Ella closed her eyes and had tears running down her face gently.The 

next morning, she woke up and saw and a tiger was in front of her. Ella screamed so did the tiger. Ella passed 

out. The bear picked up Ella by the top of her dress.   Then the tiger laid her down.   When Ella woke up and the 

tiger was still screaming.   The bear slapped the tiger. Ella started walking slowly away. The bear said, “Hello. 

What’s your name?” Ella mumbled “Ell…..lla.” Tiger cried “WHO ARE YOU? YOU ARE A MANIAC!” Ella said calmly 

“I’m a four year old girl.” Bear said worriedly “what are you doing here?”

Ella cried,”I was on an old squeaky swing, and I turned it around so it would face the bushes in my backyard.  

Then, I saw the bushes moving.   So I got closer slowly, then I saw a trail going up the hill.   Then, I followed it for 

hours!” The tiger whispered to the bear because he was scared of Ella.   The bear told Ella” Tiger remembered that 

he went up a hill to eat a taco at a house with an old squeaky swing.”   Ella interrupted, that was Saturday night.  

“When I dropped my taco by the bushes. “Ella started hitting the tiger.   “The tiger yelled “OW!”Stop! Stop!” The 

bear finally said,” Lets go you two little kids.” The tiger and Ella said” at the same time “I’m thirty seven and I’m 

four “” Ella”, said fearlessly,” When do I get to go HOME? My Mom is making tacos tonight and I have to go hide 

them from this tiger over here.”After a while they came to the hill.   They went up the hill and it took them a long 

four hours.   Ella saw her house and her mother, father, brother, and sister.   She ran up and over the bushes to 

her brother and sister.”Ella’s home, mom!”Said Danielle. Ella’s father told her to stop messing around, and help 

put up the lost-child signs up.   Ella ran up and said it’s me Daddy and my new two friends.   “A bear and the tiger 

behind her.   The mother, sister, dad, and brother screamed. The bear said to Ella,” What’s the matter?” The tiger 

screamed and shouted!   “What’s going on! “”AH!” Help me!” Help me! Let’s go!   “Ella questioned,” mom, can you 

guys hear the bear and the tiger talking? 

 “Dad said,” what? No! Who?   Ella looked lost.   Mom included “Can you hear them?”Said Ella.   “Said yes! I don’t 

know though.   After five years the family found out that Ella was not crazy.   She just had a different unique talent. 

She now writes books about talking animals save kids while one of the animals eats little kids tacos.   She learned 

that true friends come in all shapes and sizes.bh

The Bossy Fox

Once upon a time there was a bossy Fox. He was so bossy one day that he 

stomped out of his cave into the wildness. He stomped at Rabbit’s hole and 

shouted”, Rabbit, come out of your hole right now!” 

 Rabbit came out yawning still half asleep. “What is it now Fox?” yawned 

Rabbit still half asleep. 

“I want you to get me some water right away!” screamed Fox.

“Fine I’ll get you some water.” She walked away with a bucket. Rabbit 

mumbled while she dumped the bucket in the lake. “I’m tired of Fox 

bossing me around!” yelled Rabbit. She yelled so loud that it woke up Bear.

Bear ambled over to Rabbit,” What’s the matter Rabbit?” asked Bear.

“Fox kelp on bossing me around all these days,” sobbed Rabbit.

“I’ll help you with your trouble,” answered Bear.

“You will?” asked Rabbit.

“Sure, I will.” said Bear. So both of them went back to Fox, when they 

got there Fox yelled” Where is my water!?” 

Bear stood up and yelled “You need to chill, Fox! You can’t boss people 

around all the time!”

Fox got scared. He wanted to run away.

“Well um… I guess I’ll stop,” said Fox nervously walking away.

“Hurray for Bear!” shouted Rabbit. Then never again they saw Fox 

bossing Rabbit around. Fox learned to never to be bossy again

The Shark and Deno the Fish

One day there was a fish named Deno. His owner, Robbie, was looking 

and Deno was on his back in the fish tank. The next day, he told his 

grandmother. He said,” Grandpa my fish is dead”.

“He’s not dead he is asleep,” replied grandpa.   Then Robbie said,” Then 

come look at him then”. The grandpa was shocked that the fish was dead. 

So Robbie decided to flush the fish in the toilet. When he flushed him he 

started to cry. It turned out Deno was sleep, he was not dead. When he 

woke up he was in the sea.  

He turned around. “Hey little buddy, “the shark yelled.AHH!!Deno swam as 

fast as he could. Deno swam as fast as he could trying to get away from 

the shark.   No matter what the shark caught up with him. He was filled 

with fear. Then the shark felt sad for him. “Hey little buddy I’ll help you 

get home,” he said. Please, yes” Deno replied.

Deno was afraid the shark was going to eat him. But the shark was trying 

to help him out. The shark took him to his hide out, because he knew 

Deno didn’t have anywhere to go for the night. The shark made Deno a 

deal.

It was silent for many hours. But finally he said “Just because you are 

big does not mean you are a bad person. Now can you take me home 

friend,” asked Deno? The shark did. But there went the pipe they both 

were running but here came the big bad shark that thought he ruled it 

all.

“Go,” said the shark. The shark first bit off two of his tentacles off, but 

the octopus squeezed his neck. While Deno ran up the huge, rusty pipe. 

Deno was in the toilet and Deno saw him in the tub. Then from that 

moment everything got good. Deno was found and the shark beat the 

octopus. And now on he nevers judge by the cover.

Hammy the Clean Pig

One day, deep in the woods, there was a small farm that was home to a 

pig named Hammy. Hammy was a small dirty pig. He had zero friends 

because he was so nasty. Since he had no friends, Hammy was a sad pig. 

     On a bright sunny day, Hammy saw a flying squirrel and said, “Hey 

little gliding buddy, what’s your name?”

     “Hi pig, my name is Glider Greene.   What is your name, little mud 

buddy.” replied Glider.  

     “My name is Hammy Hamilton. Call me Hammy. Would you be my 

friend?” Hammy asked. 

     As Glider flew down and landed on the fence post, he replied “No, but 

maybe if you clean up a little, I’ll think about it.” 

     Hammy took Glider’s advice and put it to good use. After two hours of 

work, Hammy was finally clean. Soon afterward, Hammy began making 

more and more friends. The next day, Hammy thanked Glider for the good 

advice. 

    The moral of the story is being more hygienic can get you more friends.

The Puppy and the Fox

“Bring back my food ya’ dirty thief!” yelled a farmer.   A fox ran away from 

the farmer, past a puppy the farmer owned, and straight back into the 

cornstalks with a big fat juicy steak in his mouth.   The puppy was to slow 

and weak to chase the fox away.   “Oh how I hate that fox,” Growled the 

farmer.   The puppy yelped at the woods “I’ll get you soon you dirty ol’ 

fox.” “You never will!” yelled back the woods

One month later: The fox kept stealing food

    “Oh not again,” The farmer said with no food in front of him.   He called 

puppy, who was now a young adult, to go after the fox.   He couldn’t find 

him, so he back home. “You’ll have to get him next time” said the farmer 

sadly.

Three months later: During those three 

months the fox kept on stealing food from 

the farmer

    The young dog puppy became an adult 

dog, and thought he could do it. “Okay, 

now all I have to do is chase the fox away, 

and never come back,” said the dog 

confidently. The fox came, and he was 

hiding sneakily in the cornstalks. Then, he 

went inside the farmer’s house, and the 

dog followed. Just right then, before the fox 

could even take a step inside the house… 

“BARK!” barked the dog. “Ahhh” screamed 

the fox, very frightened. The fox went past 

the barn, past the gate, and into the 

cornstalks sand never came back.

The moral of this story is to never steal 

unless you are ready to face the 

consequences of your actions.
