"Yippee!" Screamed Laurie. Her frisky little spaniel, Polo, was running so fast, Laurie was almost being dragged by Polo. "Slow down!" Said Laurie's brother, Max. "I can't!" Said Laurie. "Heeellllpppp!"

Suddenly, Polo decided he wanted to jump into a truck. "Noooooooo!" Screamed Max. "Heeee-lllppp!" Yelled Laurie. "Arf!" Said Polo.

"Hi, sweetie!" Said a woman as she climbed out of the truck. "What are you doing on the back of my truck?" "My dog jumped into the truck and brought me with him!" "Oh, I'm sorry!" Said the woman. "You're probably far away from home! I'll take you to my house, and you can be my guest for a while."

"Sorry, but I own an orphanage. You'll have to stay here until I find your parents. Why don't you bunk with the boy who doesn't have any-body to sleep with?" Said the woman. (Her name was Mala.)
