- This document prohibited English Colonists to
establish settlements West of the Appalachian
Mountains .
- Angered colonists who thought they had won
the right to settle the Ohio River Valley


- The Quartering Acts ordered local governments
of the American Colonies to provide provisions for
British soldiers.
- There were 10,000 British soldiers in the
colonies to house.
- This Act was a cost-saving measure for the

- This law required all legal and commercial
documents to carry an official stamp showing
that a tax had been paid.
- All diplomas, contracts, and wills had to carry
a stamp.
- Published materials, such as newspapers, had
to be written on special stamped paper.



- First this act suspended New York's assembly
unil New Yorkers agreed to provide housing for
the troops.
- The act placed duties on various goods
brought into the colonies, like paper, glass, and
tea.
- The money collected would be used to pay
the salaries of British governors and other
officials in the colonies.



- Incident occurred March 5th 1770.
- The fight broke out when a group of youths
and dockworkers started insulting each other
in front of the Custom House.
- The said that Attucks and the four others had
given their lives for freedom.



- The Tea Act gave the British East India
Company a lot of control over America's tea
trade.
- Since Tea was extremely popular in the
Americas, the Tea Act angered many
Americans for the taxing.
- Tea could only arrive in the trading
company's ships were it was sold by
merchants.
