"Don't forget, you are the hero of your own story."
Greg Boyle

The Flame used to be the protector of Queenston City. He was their hero keeping them safe from harm. Whether it be bad guys or natural disasters, The Flame was always there to save the day.

With his ability to control fire and his quick wit, he was, if you'll pardon the pun, a really cool dude. When The Fixer threatened the people of Queenston City, The Flame was there to bring him to justice.

The Flame was very popular with kids, policemen, and especially the ladies. He seemed to really enjoy the attention. He had become more than just a superhero. He had become a celebrity and that's when things went south.

One fateful day, while The Flame was out of town, The Gnome robbed a couple of banks. We expected The Flame to save the day but he never showed up. The Mayor called him repeatedly but he wouldn't pick up his phone.

The Flame's fame had started to go to his head. The reason he never answered his phone was because he was too busy bragging about how awesome he was to a group of ladies. When he finally checked his phone it was too late.

When The Flame finally arrived he was greeted by a lot of unhappy faces. The Chief was waiting for him and was quite upset. "Chill babe. I'll catch The Gnome. I got three phone numbers last night." The Chief was not amused.

"Maybe we don't need you after all hotshot." "After all I've done for you people? You can't fire me...I quit!" The Flame blew up a police car before he stormed off. Our police force did a great job but they still needed help. Enter "The Green Machine!"

I had always wanted to be a superhero and I idolized The Flame. Sure I was only 10 years old but there had to be something I could do. The time for action was now. "The Green Machine" was born!

Green was my favourite colour so that was the colour I chose for my costume. I looked like a real superhero. I went around town putting up flyers advertising a "Hero For Hire." There was one small problem, I didn't have any superpowers.

My superhero career didn't exactly get off to an exciting start. I would mostly just rescue cats or help seniors cross the street. But soon people began talking about The Green Machine, Queenston City's newest "hero."
