There was a girl named Skylett, but everyone called
her Skye. She lived in a downtown New York home
with her mother and father.
Her mother died when she was 8 years old due to a
robbery where she was shot by the man who robbed
her of everything she had with her.
The day before she died her mother gave her a locket.
"I want to give you this. Now that you have it, it's part
of you, just as you're part of me," said her mother.

Two years later, Skye's dad got married to a woman
named Victoria. She had a daughter named Mariella,
who was Skye's age. Little did her father know that
Victoria was only loved two things: Mariella and
money.
Victoria planned to take all the money Skye's father
had so she and Mariella could live a life of luxury.
"We can finally get what we deserve," said Victoria to
Mariella the day of the wedding.
"We'll take the money and leave Skye and her father
with nothing."

father crashed into a tree. He died instantly.

Skye's father and left Skye with nothing. She made Skye
become a servant for her and Mariella in order to keep living
in what used to be Skye's home.

Mariella. They waste Skylett's money for themselves and only
buy Skye the items she needs so she won't want to escape her prison.

staying in the house would keep her close to her parents. "Besides," she told
herself, "I shouldn't get mad at them I'm a nice girl." she told herself

Skye would spend the days cleaning, and when she had the
chance, she would watch the news. She felt close to the
world through the news, and close to Reyn.
Reyn was the son of a wealthy banker, and by looking at
him she knew who he really was, even though she had
never met him.
"There will be a fundraiser tomorrow at the residence of
Reyn and his father, who will host the event. Anyone who
would like to attend can go," said Reyn.
Having heard this, Skye finally had the need to leave the
house.
"I need to go and finally meet him," she stated.

Having heard the news, Victoria decided Mariella and her
would attend in order to make wealthy friends for their
benefit.
"Victoria, I've never asked to leave and have always
obeyed you. Now I'm asking, can I accompany you both to
the fundraiser?" asked Skye.
"Oh, dear child. Of course you may not. What will the
people at the fundraiser think of such a girl at your
position? They'd laugh at you. Trust me, I'm doing you a
favor," Victoria replied with such a demeaning tone.
But Skye was resolved on attending the fundraiser. So she
decided to disobey Victoria and came up with a plan.

"Well, we're on our way. I expect to find everything as
it is now when we come back," said Victoria.
"Of course, Victoria. Wouldn't have it any other way,"
responded Skye as Mariella and Victoria left the
house.
She waited ten minutes, then ran down to the basement
where all the stuff her mom and dad owned were
stored. Skye decided to wear one of her mother's
dresses. The dress was silver and fit her perfectly; as
she put it on, she left the house and headed to upper
New York, where the fundraiser would take place.
