Dedicated to my little brother, who loves fairy tales that have a happy ending!

Once upon a time, there was a girl that lived in a small area near a great big wood. She was seventeen years old and she had a very loving grandmother that lived just south of her. The girls real name was McKenzie, but everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood because she wore a red velvet hood that her grandmother had made her.

One day a woodsman came to her house.
"Little Red?" he called knocking on the door.
Little Red walked to the door and opened it "Yes Mr. Woodsman?" she asked smiling at him.
"Your grandmother would like to see you, she has made you more stuff!" the woodsman said beaming at her.
"Well of course I'll come see her again!" Little Red exclaimed.
"Great!" the woodsman said "when will you come then?" he asked. Little Red thought for a moment.
"Maybe in a couple hours or so, I need to do my chores and my phone needs to be charged" Little Red said.
"Okay, sounds like a plan" the woodsman said waving farewell to Little Red.
In a little less than two hours, she decided she wanted to go. She threw on her hood and walked downstairs.
"Mother!" she called "I'm going to go see grandma!". However, she had no intentions to see her grandmother...
"Okay!" her mother replied "have fun, but be back by five". Little Red walked out the door with her phone and her lunch, which she devoured in seconds. She skipped down the streets, then looked behind her to see if anyone was looking. Then she walked into the woods.

"Wolfie? James? Ripper?" she called out into the quiet woods.
"Little Red!" a brisk voice called out. It was the voice of Wolfie. Now, Wolfie was a wolf. And wolves were very dangerous, but Little Red somehow became friends with three of them! All the sons of the Big Bad Wolf, you know, "all the better to see you with"? Well the Big Bad Wolf wasn't bad at all! He was very kind and didn't want to hurt anyone ever, for he was a vegetarian, but lets get on with the story.
"Wolfie!" Little Red said "It's nice to see you! How've you been?"
"I'm great Red! What about you?" he asked back.
"Great, but where are James and Ripper?" she asked.
"Back at home, too dangerous, y'know?" he said remembering his mother "Lets just go...".
They walked, and walked, and walked, and walked. It took them a hour and a half to get to the wolves den. All of a sudden, a gray wolf pounced on Little Red. She screamed.
Then there was a familiar laugh "Heyyyyy Red!" the wolf smiled at her.
"Ripper!" she exclaimed, her voice high "how many times do I have to tell you to stop jumping on me and scaring me?".
Ripper smiled "Exactly 154 times," his smile got bigger "plus this time". Little Red groaned. Wolfie laughed. Then a soft voice came up behind them.

"Hey Red" James said.
"James!" Little Red blushed "I missed you so much!". Then, remembering Ripper and Wolfie were there, she stopped, looking very embarrassed.
"Ooooh" Ripper and Wolfie said.
"Stop it guys" James said, blushing hard.
"Jameston Laramie Hackstern!" the voice of the Big Bad Wolf called out.
"Oops," James said "forgot to clean out my part of the den" he pecked Little Red on the cheek and ran to their den blushing hard under his chocolate colored fur.
"Aw Red, you look adorable when you're blushing" Wolfie said smiling, showing all his big, sharp teeth.
"Wolfie, leave the poor girl alone," laughed Ripper, then changed his voice to a low whisper with a hint of amusement "Red, want me to ask him out for you?".
"No!" she nearly screamed “how do you think my mother would react if she found out I was dating a wolf? I like James a lot...but I just can’t!” she said sadly.
“Sorry Red” Wolfie said. Then there was a huge bang.

Wolfie and Ripper tensed up. Little Red froze. They all went quiet.
“Red” Ripper said in a low voice “Go...run!!”
“Okay, I’ll see you guys later! Be safe!” she yelled and ran back onto the path to her grandmother's house.
Little Red didn’t know what to say. The woodsman was right in front of her, he didn’t see her, but he was there. She hid behind a tree.
“Little Red!” the woodsman called out into the empty woods. There was a rustle in the bushes directly in front of the woodsman and Little Red saw Ripper peeking out to wink at her.
Little Red had to think fast, before Ripper was...well...ripped apart.
She didn’t think through everything.
“Mr. Woodsman!” she yelled with sticks in her beautiful brown hair and dirt all over her face.
“Little Red?” the woodsman turned quickly and saw the messed up figure of Little Red.
“Yes! I got lost in the woods! I’m so glad you found me!” she exclaimed with fake tears rolling down her face “I went off the trail when I saw a bunch of beautiful flowers I thought my grandmother would like, and forgot which way the trail was”.
“Oh dear,” said the woodsman “let’s get you to your grandmother's house”.
