On a hot summer morning, Daisy was sitting around the table with her family eating her favorite fruit, watermelon.

But there was only one problem...
Daisy had a REALLY wiggly tooth!

Daisy took a HUGE bite of her watermelon
and then....
She pulled out a little baby tooth!

“My tooth! My tooth! Look Mom, it finally came out!” Daisy said with a big gap in her mouth.

“I think it’s time for us to head to Dr. Molar!” exclaimed Mom.

Oh no! Dr. Molar was the grumpy old dentist that Liam went to last month. Liam said he uses sharp tools to poke at your teeth and make your gums bleed!

I am NOT going to the dentist.
“Oh Daisy,” said Mom, “he’s not scary! And the tooth fairy can not come unless we go to the dentist!”

“The dentist is even worse than the doctor! He even has a scary drill that he uses to clean your teeth,” said Liam dramatically.

“Dr. Molar said he set aside a special chair just for you and is waiting for us. Everyone in the car!”
Dad said.
Daisy gulped and got into the car.

This car ride was the longest ride of Daisy's life!
She couldn’t stop thinking about the
sharp tools and the loud drills.
Daisy wished she had never lost the tooth.

When they finally arrived at the dentist’s office, they walked into a small waiting room. Daisy couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw all the toys and books for the patients to use while
they were waiting.

But Daisy STILL didn’t like this place! She sat and waited for the scary dentist to call her into his office.

A nice nurse poked her head through the waiting room door. “Daisy?” She called as she smiled at the family. But Daisy wasn’t fooled. She knew the nurse was just as evil as Dr. Molar!

Daisy climbed up into the big dentist chair. The chair was soft and squishy, and could even move back and forth. Daisy took a deep breath and rested her head, trying not to look at all the tools lined up on the counter next to her.

There was a soft knock on the door, and in came a little old man. The man was dressed in a long white coat and had a big smile on his face.

Even though Dr. Molar was smiling, Daisy couldn’t stop thinking about the sharp tools. The butterflies would not leave her stomach!

“Hi, Daisy. I’m Dr. Molar.
Congratulations on losing your first tooth!
It looks like the tooth fairy
will be paying you a visit,"

“I just talked to your mom and I heard you are a little nervous about your first trip to the dentist. So, I’m going to try to make you feel a little better about it. Does that sound like a plan?” Daisy nodded.
