The main goal behind sex education is health promotion and disease prevention in Canada.Sex education can help in the following ways in order to improve sexual health in Youth.

(1)to reduce early pregnancy rate by providing advocacy and use of contraceptives

(2)To reduce sexually transmitted diseases and promote disease prevention

(3)To reduce sexual harassment and rape

(4)To reduce sexual related violence and risk behavior

(5)To advocate youth about decision making and consequences  about STD's and early pregnancy
