My birthday was just days away. No one really seemed to act any different. My heart was pounding so loud that I was almost about to fall.

Then my brother came in the living room and asked me to leave. I suspiciously left the room.

Then my whole family came in carrying boxes full of birthday party decorations. My mother was in the kitchen making a vanilla cake for my birthday party. They wanted it to be a surprise, so they didn't let me come in the kitchen or living room.

Then my parents started to decorate the living room. My brother made invitations for the party. My dog came with me so he could distract me. My father went to the shop to get some party hats and garlands for my birthday party.

The invitation read:

Come and join us for an elegant evening on Emma's surprise party!

The day of my birthday came. My mother had put the final touches on the cake. The guests arrived. My mother gave me a beautiful dress to wear. The living room looked dazzling!
