Tsunami's have happened many places in the world but are most common in Japan. They occur most in Japan because there is an asteroid-collision that causes tsunami's. In order for a Tsunami to happen, First a Earthquake must measure at least 7,0 on the Richer Scale. Next the sea bed must be lifted or lowered by the earthquake.

If the sea bed is displaced sideways then no tsunami will occur. The last thing for a tsunami to happen is the epicentre of the earthquake must be near the earths surface. The weather pattern of a tsunami is extreme because of how much damage it does. In 2016 there were two tsunami's in Japan.

Some major causes of tsunami's are buildings being pumbled and destroyed and the loss of lives. Some effects of the damage is poverty from homes being destroyed, the damages repair cost (could put them in dept.), and it would take months to clean up the broken buildings. They are most prevalent during April and at shores.
