Chapter One: What To Expect

Are you planning to take horseback riding lessons for the first time? Do you know what to expect?

Your new instructor will probley put you on a gentle horse, but if she/he dosen't,or even if they do, then pay attention to these pointers:

.remember that horses are strong, so keep your a strong hold on your reins and steer with our legs

.NO SUDDEN MOVEMENTS!

This is a English saddle. If you want to ride western, try another book cowboy! The red arrow is pointing towards the stirrup. The stirrup is what you put your foot in. It really helps you balance, but you have to stick your heels down and toes up.

If you study this picture, you should find most of the equitment that you will use.
