The Green Turtle, or as the scientists say the Chelonia mydas, has a small blunt head and a serrated jaw. They are about 3 to 4 feet in carapace length and between 240 and 420 pounds!

These turtles mainly stay near the coastline and around islands and live in bays and protected shores; rarely are they observed in the open ocean, yet they are found in all temperature and tropical waters throughout the world.
Green Turtles nest at intervals of about 2 years on coastal shores. They nest about 3 to 4 times per season and lay an average of 115 eggs in each nest! The eggs incubate for around 60 days before hatching
The Green Tutle's diet changes significantly during its life. When it's less than 8 to 10 inches in length it eats worms, young crustaceans, aquatic insects, grasses and algae.
