The women at the tomb

Mary, mother of James,Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Salome went to visit Jesus at his tomb. When an angel of the Lord appeared to them and said to not be afraid. The angel explained that Jesus was not there because he resurrected. They fled the tomb and Jesus met them and again said to not fear. He told the women to tell his brothers in Galilee about him. The message of this story is to never fear the Lord.

Mary Magdalene

Mary was crying outside of Jesus' tomb when two angels appeared to her and asked why she was so sad. She said that her Lord was taken from her . Mary has seen Jesus but did not recognize him. However, when she did Jesus told Mary to stop holding onto him. She then went on to tell all disciples that she had seen him. The message of this is that God is always watching over us.

Jesus appears to his disciples

When Jesus appeared to his disciples he told them "peace be with you."They were all afraid and thought their eyes deceived them, however, Jesus showed them his hands and feet to prove himself. They became overjoyed and Jesus helped them to better understand the scripture. He told the disciples that he will send them what God promised. The message is that Jesus is always there for us.

Jesus and Thomas

A few weeks later Thomas and the disciples were at the house when Jesus appeared to grant them peace. Thomas could not believe what he saw and so Jesus let Thomas touch his side. Thomas them filled with praise. Jesus explained that he believes because he has seen and proceeded to bless those who believed without seeing. The message is that Jesus is always there even though we cannot see him because he is there spiritually.
