We resume our story with
Charles and Elizabeth,
who have just discovered
an old treasure map.
"Extraordinary!"
exclaimed Charles.
"It looks like Shipwreck Island,"
said Elizabeth.
"We could take the
tugboat across,"
suggested Charles.
"Yes indeed, how exciting!"
exclaimed Elizabeth.
"Shall we go straight away?"
"Best bring the shovel I think!"
said Charles.
Charles stows the shovel
in the trunk of the Cord before setting off.
"Right, off we go then!"
said Elizabeth.
Charles and Elizabeth drove
their Cord motor-car
down to the pier.
A tugboat was waiting, set to depart for Shipwreck Island.
"Howdy-do, lundlubbers!"
asked Captain Blackbeard.
"A howdy-do to you too!"
said Charles.
"We're popping over to Shipwreck Island to do a
spot of treasure hunting.
Will you take us?"
"Have you your sea
legs about you?"
asked the captain jokingly.
"Aye, that we have!"
replied Charles.
"Righty-o,"
said the captain.
"Hop on board."
Charles and Elizabeth
climbed aboard.
"Off we go then!"
cried Captain Blackbeard.
"Shipwreck Island next stop."
"I'm going to stand at the bow,"
stated Elizabeth.
"The view is gorgeous!"
"It's almost as if I'm flying!"
exclaimed Elizabeth.
Caught up in the moment, Charles and Elizabeth
shared a kiss.
"Why is this all so familiar?"
muttered the captain to himself.
Shortly thereafter, the tugboat arrived at Shipwreck Island. After thanking Captain Blackbeard, Charles and Elizabeth alight.
After getting their bearings, Charles and Elizabeth
began to head for the X
marked on the map.
"Mind your step,"
advised Elizabeth.
"It's quite treacherous terrain."
After traipsing for a short while, Charles and Elizabeth
found themselves at a
high vantage point.
"Look there!"
exclaimed Charles.
"Down yonder - that's
got to be the spot!"
"Yes," exclaimed Elizabeth.
"I can see the X and the tree.
Let's make our way down."
"If nothing else, we've certainly discovered a fine beach,"
said Charles.
"Treasure enough in itself!"
replied Elizabeth.
"Let's keep moving though."
"Do you think we will actually find something?" asked Charles.
"Well, even if we don't,"
began Elizabeth,
"this has been a
great day thus far."
Approaching the spot,
Charles and Elizabeth discover the X is formed by two large pieces of driftwood.
"Something tells me these logs were placed here deliberately,"
said Charles.
"I'd hesitate to believe they drifted and settled like this,"
said Elizabeth,
her excitement growing.
"Right," began Charles.
"Let's do this!"
