One day, while driving down the road,
Allie saw something that caught her
attention. A short, fluffy, white dog was
running down the sidewalk with her
owner. Allie had always wished to have a
dog and play with it, but never had the
guts to ask her parents. She decided that
it was time to confront her parents and
finally ask for a dog.

The next morning when Allie woke up, she
immediately went down the stairs and toward her
parents room.
"Daddy can i ask you something?" Allie asked.
"Sure sweetie, anything you want," said her dad.
"Can i have a dog?"
"Honey, I know how much you like dogs, but no"
"What! Daddy why?"
"Because it's too much responsibility for you"
"But Dad I promise I wont ask for anything else ever
again in my life"
"Allie a no is a no, I'm sorry," her dad said.
With a horribly broken heart, Allie went up the stairs
and back to her room.

Allie was devastated, and dreadfully
started crying on the pillow case. She
thought of how cruel her dad was, that he
didn't even take it into consideration. If he
thought that Allie was just going to sit
back and not fight the battle, he was
wrong. Her dad might have won this
battle, but Allie was going to win the war,
and get the dog of her dreams.

The next day when Allie woke up she started to carry
out her plan. She was going to show her dad how
responsible she actually is, and talk about dogs
around him. If that didn't work, she was going to give
him the silent treatment. Allie didn't care what she
had to do in order to get the dog, all she knew was
that she couldn't live without the dog much longer.
When Allie arrived cheerfully at the table her dad just
looked at her and said "Sweetie are you feeling well?"
"Fine daddy, I'm just excited to go to school and
learn," said Allie.
Her dad just nodded and returned to eating his
breakfast happily.

After Allie came home from school, she ran up the
stairs to her room, and immediately started on her
homework. When her dad came to check on her and
saw her doing her homework instead of watching TV,
he was very proud of Allie. Then, after she had
finished working on her homework she
enthusiastically asked her mom if she could help with
dinner. Surprised from this offer, her mom gladly let
her help cook dinner. At the dinning table, Allie kept
on talking about how her friends all had wonderful
dogs, or the great things about having a dog. Her
parents looked interested in Allies story, and thought
they maybe reconsider about getting her a dog.
