I dedicate this to my family.

On Friday 23rd June my class went to the Auckland Museum to learn about Matariki. We had to leave school at nine o'clock . Our teachers came with us: Mr Sherwood, Mrs Zhou, Mrs son and Mrs Boomen. We walked to Sturges Road train station and got on a train.

At ten thirty we arrived at the museum. Then we went inside a large classroom. then we all had to sit on the floor then a teacher told us a story. Afterwards we learnt about maori tattooing called Ta moko.
We learnt that maori facial tattoos represent different animals: the tattoo on the forehead is called a pekapeka or bat, the tattoo on the nose is called kaka or parrot, the tattoo on the cheek is called kiwi and the last tattoo on the chin represented an owl.

After we learnt about the ta moko we had some activity our first activity was a game that helped us remember the ta moko our next activity was a face stump that look like that we had the ta moko tattoo I had the pekapeka and the kiwi and then we had our last activity that we had to make a pot out of clay.

Then after we had our activity we went to another room to watch a show it was funny and musical after we watch the show we went back to the main entry of the museum then it was lunch time some of the student went wondering around the museum.
After a few minutes we all reground at the main entry of the museum then we all left the museum at two o,clock at two thirty we got to the train station and went inside the train. It took a few minutes to get back to sturges road train station when we got there we where allowed to go home.
