Wow, An unlimited body!

The LORD in HIS sovereignty will give us a body unbound by the limitations of this present world.

It will be made by the direct action of Almighty God. The body placed in the grave will be given a body that pleases God.

But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. I Corinthians 15:38

II Corinthians 5:1-4

1. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2. For this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven.
3. If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

There will be no identity crisis!

It will be a body fashioned anew. It will not bare any humiliation like the old body.

Philippians 3:21

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Jesus Body is Our Pattern

Our bodies will not be purely spirit, but will have bones and flesh like the resurrection body of our Saviour and Lord. He said this to his disciples after his resurrection in

Luke 24:39: Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

So, we see, that it is clear, the body that he had then and still has is the type of body we will get in the resurrection.

Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

I John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him: for we shall see him as he is.

"Our bodies will be immortal"

In I Corinthians 15:52-54 we read:

52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53. For this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and thus mortal put on immortality.

54. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

In Luke 20:35-36 we read:

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

Yes, indeed our bodies will be immortal and incorruptible .

Let's be clear about immortality;

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me; hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed from death unto life.

A. Immortality what is it?

Answer: deathlessness, not subject to death. Mortality means death and of course, immortality is the opposite of death, and endless existence, forever.

"We will have a powerful body!"

We won't be subject to weakness or weariness. We won't have the limitations of our current physical bodies. We will have powers and abilities which we have had no experience in our present form of existence.



I Corinthians 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory, it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.

John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Revelation 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

This is absolutely wonderful news for the redeemed of God! We are heirs of a glorious future sharing heaven with our Saviour, and family and friends!
