I Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Our world, our societies seem to have become
extremely cold and indifferent to the needs of our fellowmen. A recent accident caused me to seek medical treatment for the injury . My wife and I made our way to our small town doctor. We didn't have an appointment, but decided that we would be glad to wait to be worked in. We were the first ones in the office that morning. My cut was bleeding pretty good. The woman at the receptionist window was not very helpful and not very friendly. (continued on the next page)
She informed us that the doctor did not take walk ins, mind you, we are his patients! The nurse did call us back to a room, but was unsure what treatment I needed so she got the doctor to take a look. He said it needs stitches, but they didn't do that, and we would need to go to the emergency room to get it repaired. Their attitude was very unconcerned and indifferent! Driving to the emergency room was a thirty minute commute. We arrive at the hospital and it was like trying to board a flight with all the security measures. I finally got called back to a room by a male nurse. He was friendly enough as was the male (continued)
certified nurse practitioner. He inspected the wound and determined all that it needed was a good cleaning and an application of antibiotic cream and proper bandaging. Hooray, no sutures no cutting away of dead skin. I never got to see a doctor of course, they are used only for the severe stuff! So, I've said all this not to seek sympathy, but to underscore a missing ingredient in the medical field, compassion! Now I want to drive all this home with a practical solution based on the Word of God. Please continue reading because I am sure you will be helped and encouraged at the end! May God richly bless you!

"Jesus Christ is the Almighty Compassionate Great Physician"
Matthew 9:25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

Great crowds followed Jesus, seeking healing and answers to life! Among these were also lawyers trying to trap him in his words!

Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thy self.

Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live.
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

And Jesus answering said,
A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him for dead.

Jesus Christ in Luke chapter 10: 25-37 gives us a perfect illustration of true compassion! A man is attacked and left for dead! Three main characters are in this true story. A priest, a Levite and a Samaritan.
