This is the story of how I went from being a quiet girl who kept to herself and studied for tests a week before they happened to a confident outspoken woman with an amazing boyfriend and heaps of friends.

You might be wondering what I'm talking about. Well, it all began when I was in the library studying for the next test. But before we get into the details you should probably know a bit about me. My name is Victoria but my friends call me Tori. I go to Harpville prep and I'm a straight A student. Well at least I was...

I had a crush on this boy called Benji. He was perfect. The perfect blue eyes. The perfect golden hair. And the perfect light laugh. Needless to say, he was the most amazing guy I would ever meet. Unfortunately, he wasn't exactly single. Not only was he taken, he was dating one of my friends!

Now I know what you're thinking. There's no way I could ever date him. I might as well find a new crush. Don't worry I've thought it all before. But after careful consideration, and a lot of ice-cream, I'd decided I just couldn't let him go. He was too perfect. The problem was they didn’t seem to be breaking up anytime soon.

So enough with the backstory. I was studying for the upcoming test when Aly (Benji’s girlfriend) storms into the library. I could already tell this was big because she was breathing heavily and she had this look in her eyes that said she meant business.

As quickly as I could, I rushed her outside the library so that she could be as loud as she needed. Once outside she starts ranting about how Benji had gotten an idea that they should go on a trip together and how she wasn't sure if she was ready for that commitment and how he thought she didn't want their relationship anymore which of course she did and that now she didn't know what to do. I meanwhile, was having a mini panic attack of my own. What could I do? My friend was asking me for dating advice when I was crushing on the one she wanted help with!

I tried to play it cool but inside I was freaking out. So, I went with the advice that got me through past relationships (Yes, I have dated before) to go with your gut and take risks. Thankfully this seemed to calm her down enough that she stopped talking about Benji and started on the next party we could go to which happened to be that night. I started daydreaming about Benji when I got snapped back to reality by Aly saying that Benji was going to come with us.

Now I have to be honest. I was pretty excited. Even though I would be going with Benji and Benji’s girlfriend, I still got to talk to Benji and I gotta say, we got along really well. So I started getting ready for getting ready for a big night of dancing, talking and primarily partying. So, when he picked both of us up in his truck we immediately started up an animated conversation on the last assignment.

I noticed Aly hadn't been contributing much to the conversation. I continued to notice how icy things were between the two of them considering they were boyfriend and girlfriend. I decided to ignore it so when we got to the party I thought it would be best to leave them to it, so I started to explore the house and go get a drink.

By the time I’d gotten a drink and made the rounds I heard yelling coming from upstairs. I thought I recognised the voices so I ran to where the sounds were coming from. I was shocked to find Aly and Benji having their own animated conversation. From what I could tell, Aly was upset that Benji had been talking to another girl more than he talked to her and Benji was saying how ridiculous that was especially as Aly was so uncommitted to the relationship that she shouldn’t even care.
