Maize Moo could not wait to begin her very special day. She got up extra early to go outside and play.

She visited the chickens who were busy eating worms. Maize Moo said, "It's my very special day. Do you want to play?" But the chickens just moved along.

Maize Moo went to visit Mr. Pig. He was always laying in the mud. "It's my very special day, Mr. Pig. Do you want to play?" He acted like he didn't see her and went on with his day.

Maize Moo was feeling a little down. She went down to the pond. She found two little ducks swimming 'round. She said, "It's my very special day. Do you want to play?" They ignored her and never made a sound.

Maize Moo took a walk in the nearby woods. She saw a dog and said, "It's my very special day. Do you want to play?" The dog just ran past her without a word to say.

Maize Moo was feeling sadder than she had ever felt before. She thought maybe her day wasn't so very special after all.
