Long ago, Zebra had no stripes. The summers were blisteringly hot, and Zebra walked through the grassland longing for shade.
"If only I could find some shade to cool myself. Then I will be happy," Zebra thought to himself.

"These trees have no leaves and I am so hot!" Zebra exclaimed. "I must keep searching for some shade." And so he kept walking.

After what felt like hours, Zebra stumbled upon Gazelle, quenching her thirst at the watering hole.
"Gazelle! I'm so glad I found you. I have been searching and searching for shade, and there is none to be found," Zebra remarked.

Gazelle replied, "Zebra, it's good to see you! Keep walking east and you will find shade. I've got to run!" Then she scampered off.
"Thanks!" Zebra called over his shoulder, and then he was on his way again too.
