Dedicated to our teacher, Mrs.Conway.
Separation of Powers
Judicial Branch: Judges if Laws are Constitutional or not
Executive Branch: Enforces and carries out laws.
Legislative Branch: Creates Laws.
Checks and Balances:
The idea that the 3 branches of government can check on each others power. For example, if Congress makes a law that the President doesn't like, he or she can veto (forbid) the law. But Congress can override a veto if it is necessary.

Once upon a time in a land somewhere near France, a man named Charlie was very unhappy with the laws created by the 3 Great Kings.
I hate these laws!
The 3 Kings are making really bad laws! I have to eat French Toast every Friday even though I am allergic to it!

New law: Everyone must wear green today or they will be pinched!

But I am not wearing green today!
Don't make the same mistake I did!
Meanwhile, at the great castle...

I need to do something about this!

Now Charlie is on a quest to go and convince the 3 kings to control each other's power to prevent bad laws from being passed.

Oh no! The kings made another bad law! Now I can't ride the subway. I need to get to the castle on foot now!
It looks like someone is trying to rebel against the king's laws. Let's go stop him.
The king's supporters find out about Charlie's quest....
And so... an angry mob gathers to stop Charlie, because they like French Toast Friday.
French Toast Friday! French Toast Friday!

OH NO!

Find Him!!!

Guards!!! Capture this criminal!!!
Yes Sir!!!

Suggestion? What suggestion?
Please don't put me in prison. I only came here with a suggestion. You all should stop being disputatious you egocentric demagogues. You are causing cacophony with your superfluous diatribes and epigrams.

With checks and balances, you can make laws all 3 of you like. That way there will be no unnecessary laws.
