Introduction
Introduction
In this book that you will be reading you will read all the sports I have been covering in my P.E. (physical education) class. I have been covering this sports in different methods not just physical but electronically as well.
Football
Some basic rules of football are in the teams there are 11 players from each team on the field at any one time. Their are four 15 min quarters, 12 min half time. A touchdown is worth six points, and is scored when a team crosses the opposition's goal line with the ball, or catches or collects the ball in the end zone. Two points is awarded to the defensive ream for a safety when a member of the offensive team is tackled with the ball in his own end zone.
Rules
Dimension
The dimension of a American Football Field is usually a rectangular field that measures 120 yards (110 m) long and 53.33 yards (48.76 m) wide. The lines marked along the end and sides of the field are known respectively as the end lines and side lines, and goal lines are marked 10 yards (9.1 m) inward from each end line.
Offense
The offense is the side in which the playes have possession of the ball. They have to advance the ball towards the opponent's end zone to score points. The eleven players of the offense are broken into two groups; the five offensive linemen;primary job is to block, the six backs and receivers; primary job is to advance the ball either running with the ball or passing it. Offensive linemen are not usually eligible to advance the ball past the line of scrimmage during a play.
Defense
Defensive players attempt to stop the offensive team from scoring and try to gain possession of the ball themselves, either by intercepting passes, recovering fumbled balls or preventing the offense from advancing far enough for a first down. The players work together as well, but with a more single minded focus on stopping the ball.
Different ways to score points
Touchdowns. A touchdown is worth six points. an offensive player carrying the ball, or a defensive player who has obtained the ball from the other team after recovering a fumble or intercepting a pass, advances from anywhere on the field and breaks the plane of his opponents’ goal line with the ball.
Extra points & two point conversions - The extra point is attempt during the scrimmage the kicker kicks the ball between the uprights of the goalpost and above the crossbar. A two point conversion is attempt after scoring a touchdown; the offense gets the ball on the 2 yard line and must advance the ball across the goal line as if scoring a touchdown.
Field Goals - An offense that stales within its opponent's 30 yard line, is worth three points. a kicker boots the ball entirely through the uprights of the goalpost without touching either the ground or any of his teammates.
Safeties - A safety is worth two points. A safety is awarded to the defending team if it sends the ball into its opponent’s end zone and the ball becomes dead without changing possession.
My favorite professional football team
San Francisco 49ers because I started to like them after watching them for a long time, they just became the NFL team I watched most.
Tennis
Rules
Some basic rules of tennis are that their is two players or four on a rectangular court. The payers stand on opposite sides of a net and use a stringed racket to hit a ball back and forth to each other. They each have a maximum of one bounce after it has been hit by their opponent to return the ball over the net and within the boundaries of the court. When a player fails to do as said the opponent wins a point. You have to win enough points to win a game and enough games to win a set and enough sets to win a match; the first person to win six games wins a set.
Dimension
The dimension of a tennis court is 78 ft. (23.77 meters) long. Its width is 27 ft. (8.23 meters) for singles matches and 36 ft. (10.97 meters) for doubles matches. The service line is 21 ft. (6.40 meters) from the net.
The backhand is a tennis shot in which one swings the racket around one's body with the back of the hand preceding the palm.
Backhand
The forehand in tennis is a shot made by swinging the racket across one's body with the hand moving palm first.
Forehand
Over hand in tennis is just serving with the racket upper than your head; as shown in the background.
Over hand
Each tennis match is made up of two to three sets. To win a set, you must win at least six games. The games are scored starting at zero and go up to 40, but that's just four points. From zero, the first point is 15, then 30, then 40, then game point, which wins the game.
Scoring
Basketball
Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular floor; the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the mid-court line.
