Thanks to all teachers at Gateway to College for all the love and support. If it wasn't for their love and support, I wouldn't have had this amazing second chance at an education. Thank you to my mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. Their tough love has shaped me into being this person today.

"Men!" alarmed a Greek citizen, "we have suffered far too long! This is truly ridiculous! We demand the God do something about this atrocity!"
The Greek citizens of the eastern Mediterranean have far too long suffered seasons with famine and drought.
"You fool!" Roared another citizen, "you'll upset the gods and make them even more upset! Especially Zeus and Poseidon! They have no mercy on us mortals!"

"They dare defy us and spit on our names?" angered Zeus, as he was getting his thunderbolt ready to punish the Greek citizens. As Athena watched over the Greek citizens bicker over their town, her compassionate heart took over her. She stopped her father's thunderbolt for the billionth time. "Don't do something so rash," Athena said with pain in her voice, "let's try to understand that they're only trying to live and that's why they're angry with us. We have the power to help, but we have not done anything to do so. Only us immortals can go days without eating, because we cannot die easily. Why don't we respond to them and help them? As we can see, this problem hasn't passed by itself for a long time now father."

Zeus gazed into his beautiful daughter's eyes. He could feel his daughter's eagerness to help the citizens of Greece despite his churning anger for them. "Do what you must, but if they disrespect their god one more time, I will show no mercy." Zeus knew he could never win against the Goddess of war tactics and wisdom, typically because she was his own adviser. At the beginning of time, when she was born, he swallowed her whole. She was the child that split his head open in two because she refused to be eaten alive. He knew that Athena would do great things one day because he was proven the day she was born that she would, and this day had to be one of them. So then Athena ascended off of Mount Olympus, the tallest mountain in Greece, to help the citizens of Greece with their problem.
As Athena was nearing her destination, she could hear taunting laughter. "What in the world could this be?" she asked herself. She took a great leap to her destination to see Poseidon humiliating people by making others do ridiculous dances. "What is this?" Athena asked angrily. "Oh, my beloved niece," Poseidon said nonchalantly, and then he chuckled nastily, "I'm making mortals dance for me in degradation for disgracing my name."

Athena readied her thunderbolt as she became vexed with Poseidon. "You don't understand uncle Poseidon. They are only trying to survive. How about you help these mortals instead of mortify them?" Poseidon chuckled vilely, "do you suppose you're better than me child? I've fought the titans along with Zeus and Hades child."
Poseidon readied his trident in fighting stance. It seemed both of the gods were about to duel. But then Athena immediately remembered why she was there in the first place and tried to turn the terrible situation into a positive one for the people of Greece. With her amazing wisdom, she flipped the situation over, "Uncle, how about you and I have a competition?" Poseidon raised his eyebrow in interest, "How so, child?" Athena was pleased he agreed immediately. "Let's see who can present the greatest gift for mankind. Best gift, is the better god." Poseidon smirked an evil smirk. "What shall be the prize, my beloved niece? Surely, just the title of 'better god' is too tacky even to your taste." The townsfolk and even Athena stood silent for a second not knowing what the price would be. "How about the city will be named after the god who gave the best gift to mankind?" Poseidon grew overconfident of the what is to come and immediately agreed to the challenge.
