Believe it or not, if you buy this book, it will be donated to a Charity. We didn't decide which one yet, but I promise we will. If you have any suggestions of where to send it, please let us know in the comment section. You will know if you are purchasing for Charity if you see this sign in the dedication page. (That is this one, by the way.)

One evening, Harper and her friends were playing in her front yard. She was playing with Sallie and Jacob. Sallie was the princess in the white dress, and Jacob was the mean know-it-all knight. Harper's mother came out and saw them playing. She thought since they were all there and might want to join, it was the perfect time to ask! So she did. ''Hello ladies and Jacob,'' she began to say. ''There is a Charity in Pottsville! Would you like to join and help people?'' she curiously asked. Jacob shrugged. ''It depends. When do we do it?'' Harper's mother checked the calendar and saw. ''On Wednesday's and Mondays from 4:00-6:00.'' Jacob explained that he had baseball practice those nights. Sallie said that she had play rehearsal those nights from 5:00-8:00. Harper just thought that it would be boring. ''Mom, they can't be that desperate that I have to spend 2 hours with them! No, no, no.'' Harper's mom made an unpleasant face. She announced that Harper could play tomorrow. Sallie and Jacob went home.

Harper looked confused at her mother. ''What was THAT for?'' she asked angrily. Harper's mother, Tiffany rolled her eyes. She pulled her hand over and began to walk through the village. ''You need to learn respect! So we are going on a walk to talk about what you said.'' Suddenly, Harper grew more and more confused. Tiffany looked at her a little cross. ''Remember?'' she asked. Harper shook her head no. ''You said that these people aren't that needy. Well guess what!'' Harper already knew what this was leading to. The charity in Pottsville! She continued to listen as her mother spoke to her. ''I can't believe you would say that. And your tone was unacceptable, Harper. Do you know how they are needy? Because some of them don't have homes, families, body parts, or anything. One girl named Anyka was abandoned by her parents. She almost died. That is how, Harper.'' Tiffany screamed. When they were walking, no one said a word. Then, Tiffany spoke. ''Take this.'' she said handing a notebook to her. Harper grew so
irritated, that she picked her tiara off her head and threw it on the ground. Tiffany was tired of the way she was acting and began to speak again. Harper tried tuning her out, but somehow she couldn't. So she just listened. ''This notebook is where you will keep all the donations and visits to this Charity that you have made. If you loose it, you better hope that you find it.'' Then Harper looked at all 7,194 pages in the book. Not even her dictionary words of the whole world had THAT many pages! Young people, old people, medium people, this would be for their visits and donations she made to them. Harper could already tell that she was going to have a long day. When she were done walking with her mother, she approached Jacob and Sallie again. Harper didn't refuse to leave anything out about what happened. Just then, Nancy Shillaber walked up to them. ''I am donating teddy bears to children in a charity! It's in Pottsville. Care to join me?'' she said ''innocently''. Everyone liked Nancy because she is nice. Not Harper!

Sallie shook her head yes. ''Aw! How sweet of you to do that, Nancy. What a darling little snivel!'' Just then, Nancy looked confused. ''What do you mean, snivel Harper...?'' she began to say. Harper double took what she said for a moment. ''Did I say snivel? Ha, I meant... DARLING!'' Harper said nervously. Something didn't sound quite right, though. ''What a darling little darling, I am, Harper?'' she asked even more confused. Harper bit her lip and shook her head very fast. Nancy shrugged her shoulders and her and Sallie skipped off. Jacob looked mad. ''Why that Nancy Shillaber!!!!!!!!!'' he screamed. Harper looked happy. ''Why that Nancy Shillaber, what, Jake?'' said Harper beginning to pest. ''Didn't care to ask ME if I would like to donate!'' he said. Harper laughed. She knew it would be a while before they were on the same page. But she stopped to think about what her mother said about donating to a charity. It would be awfully sweet and awfully helpful. She knew that Jacob wanted to donate too,-
so Harper pulled his arm along to the charity. ''What are you doing Harper?'' he repeatedly asked. Harper just shushed him. When they finally got to the charity, Jacob smiled. They didn't hesitate to go in. Many people in there barely had a home, or anyone to call family. Jacob helped a girl with glasses. ''What is your name?'' he asked her. ''S-s-susie! Wah, ha, waa!'' she began to weep and cry. They both felt bad for her and tried cheering her up. ''What do you like to do?'' Harper asked Susie. ''Draw, but I'm not very good at it.'' she replied. Jacob frowned. ''Neither am I. But one day, I am going to be an artist!'' he motivated. ''Yes, with a lot of practice. I'll go get some paper!'' Harper insisted. Unfortunately, the only paper she had was her paper in the notebook. So Harper pulled a piece out and they began to draw. After all, she did have 7,193 pieces of paper left to go. When they were done drawing, Harper wrote the visit and donation that she made. On top she put, ''My First Donation!''. Harper felt very proud.
My First Donation and Visit!
So, today I made a donation. Also, a visit. Her name was Susie Draper, and she likes to draw. The donation that I made was a piece of paper out of you, notebook. Sorry, by the way. At any rate you should probaly be happy! If not, then I'm sorry to you. But hopefully I'll be able to make more donations like this. Not ones that I have to rip pages out of you, I mean ones that make girls like Susie smile. Or just boys. That make ANYONE smile! Hopefully mom will be happy to hear about this.
Sincerely,
Harper Madison Tram
Then, Harper and Jacob came across a girl in a wheel chair. Harper looked around for something to donate. She found a candy booth, only for visitors. Jacob saw a cardboard box. He decided to make a sign out of it. They walked over to her. ''Hey there! What is your name?'' asked Harper. ''Mollie.'' the girl replied back. Jacob laughed. ''I like that name, Mollie!'' he said. Mollie smiled. Then, they went to get their donation ideas.

When they went over to claim their ideas, Jacob saw something he hadn't noticed before. RATS!!! Mollie and Harper squealed as they roamed by them. But when one rat jumped on Jacob's head, they couldn't help but laughing. Sadly, that idea was not going to work. ''Now I have nothing for you Mollie. Sorry that these mice are HOGGING my idea.'' he said with an attitude. Harper quickly rushed to the candy booth, pulling Jacob along with her. ''We'll be back Mollie. I have an idea that we can use as a donation.'' she said, pulling Jacob even harder. When they had came back to give her it, she was flattered. Then they went to another person. But this time, it was a needy Indian girl. She explained that her parents thought she was... worthless. That was too, a sad story. ''What are you in need of, Indian girl?'' asked Jacob. The Indian girl laughed and replied, ''Why, nothing. My name is Eva, just so you know.'' Harper shook her head. ''Jacob, you need to get Eva here something. I'll write down my last donation.''
