One Saturday morning Amarah invited Kennedy to meet at the park to play.

Amarah asked Kennedy if she wanted to meet her new kitten.

Kennedy said yes!!!
Bryan was a mean boy that lived in the neighborhood. He never had anything nice to say to the other children.
He heard the girls talking about the new kitten and decided to pick on them for no reason at all.

"Kittens are so stupid and so are you!" Bryan shouted at them.

Amarah and Kynnedy did not like that Bryan said kittens were stupid.
And they really didn't like that he called them stupid either.
They knew if they did not speak up for themselves Bryan would continue to be mean to them.

"Do not call us names Bryan. We love kittens and we are not stupid." Amarah said.
"We are very smart. Smart enough to get away from Bullies and people that are mean to us." Kynnedy said.

Bryan did not like that the girls stood up for themselves and began to scream and shout more mean things at them.
All the other kids in the park decided to leave because they did not want to be around "Bryan the Bully."
Bryan was left all alone with no one to play with because he was being so mean.

"I don't care. You can all leave. I don't want to play with any of you anyway."
"All of you are sooo stupid!
The girls walked to Amarah's house so she could show Kynnedy her new kitten.
Amarah's mom was home and they told her about what happened at the park with Bryan.
She told the girls she was very proud of how they handled the situation.

Her mother encouraged them to always let an adult know when something like that happens.
"Always be kind and considerate of other people's feelings." She told them.
"Sometimes people are not nice. They will say mean things and do mean things to hurt your feelings and we cannot control that. What we can control is how we respond to them." Amarah's mom told them.

"Be safe, speak up and stand strong." She said.
