Hi, my name is John and I have dyslexia.

Being dyslexic does not slow me down for what I want my life to be like. It takes me longer to learn new words but my teachers help me.

When I'm in school, I mix up my letters and it takes me longer to read. I have trouble memorizing and understanding.

Because I struggle with spelling, my teachers care more about the ideas I write about instead of how I spell.

My friend Jesse is usually my partner so he can read the instructions to me.

My teacher is really nice and lets me listen to the books we are assigned in English instead of having to read them.

My teacher removes time limits from the things I need to do and she has someone read my tests to me.

In my art class, my teacher helps me write by using multisensory learning. I can write words with LEGOs, sand, or pasta.
