This fractured fairytale is the story of Cinderella from the Prince's perspective. I had always been curious as to what it would feel like to be ditched at your own ball. In this story, the reader will learn more about the Prince's life and feelings rather than the unfortunate life of Cinderella.

Once upon a time there was a lonely Prince living with his father. The King had noticed Prince Charming seemed sad. He decided it was time for his son to meet a lady he would marry. The King sent out letters to each house in the village of this news.

All of the families with daughters were given letters. Each letter said all girls were to go to a mandatory ball at the castle in one week. Prince Charming was completely unaware of that these letters were sent out.

At breakfast the next day, the King told Prince Charming about the letters. He wanted his son to be happy and live as well as himself. Although the Prince couldn't change it, he felt sad that he would have to choose one girl out of a lot of villagers. He didn't know how he would do this. Deep down the Prince knew every girl would want to marry him so they could become the princess.

The day of the ball was approaching quickly. Everyone in the castle was preparing food, tables and the ballroom. The Prince was not looking forward to the day of the ball. He felt he wasn't ready to choose a wife to be with for the rest of his life. Not only would they be married, but she would have to help rule the kingdom.

The day of the ball arrived and the castle was ready for all of the guests. Women from all over started showing up at the castle ready to meet the Prince. He danced with a few girls, and was unhappy with the way the night was going. He went to the King and asked to be excused. But then, something miraculous happened...

Right before the Prince went to leave the ballroom, a special girl seemingly appeared out of nowhere. She had fire orange hair and was dressed beautifully. This mystery lady caught the eye of the Prince by the way she carried herself. She was polite, modest and not the least bit obnoxious, like many of the girls in the room. The Prince had to dance with her.

Seeing the way the Prince lit up, the King was very pleased. He knew this girl would make the Prince happy again. Prince Charming asked her to dance and she kindly agreed. As they danced, he asked her many questions. He wanted to know what her name was, where she was from and everything about her. The mystery girl answered none of his questions by asking about himself. Little did the Prince know, she was keeping a few secrets.
