David knew that with God's help, he could not fail.
I hope this Bible story helps you know that the same God will slay your giants today!
Love,
Grandma Denise

I hope my brothers
are okay!
David was just a boy when the Israelites were in a war with the Philistines.
His brothers were off fighting while David was left behind to watch the sheep.

Will not one of you fight me
and end this war?
No!
In the Philistine camp there was a giant named Goliath. He was over 9 ft. tall!
Everyday Goliath would come out and insult the Israelites and challenge them to fight. The Israelites just trembled in fear and retreated.

I am so afraid of that
giant over there!
I will fight him.
God will protect
me. I'll just wear
what I have on
right now.
Even King Saul was afraid of Goliath.
David told the king that he would fight Goliath. He wasn't afraid because he knew that God would protect him.
So, King Saul gave David all of his very own armor. It didn't fit him very well, so David took it off.

All I need is 5 smooth stones.
God will do the rest!
David got his slingshot. He then went out to a stream and collected five smooth stones. He brought them back to the Israelite camp.
