I am a beauty queen in tears
I wonder why society defines us
I hear the snakes and bees on my feed
I see pools of blue in the eyes of those
I want to you to feel your pulse and remind yourself that you are a blessing
I am beautiful, different , and loved
I pretend to not listen, but I am listening
I feel sorry for those who put me down to gain respect for themselves
I worry if this generation will learn to love
I cry for those who feel attacked by social standards
I am wistful to those who can't express themselves
I Am Poem : I am a collateral beauty
I understand your quirkiness and flaws we are perfectlly imperfect
I say do what makes you happy
I dream that one day youll change
I try to give yellow to those with blue
I hope fathers will be good to their daughters, because daughters become mothers who turn into lovers
I am a collateral beauty

I Am Poem : I am a collateral beauty
Response:
I Wrote this Poem to inspire the reader how little people care about beauty standards and to reassure themselves about self-respect. I purposely used inferences to form opinionated statements logically. The word inference means “to bring, carry, or bear.” I wanted the reader to understand the implicit meaning behind " I am a collateral Beauty" this phrase is special to me because, collateral beauty is the “beautiful” side of collateral damage, meaning the better side of something terrible that occurred
Bio Poem : Sydney Bakke
Response:
Writing this poem was one of my favorites to do because it was based on me and the things I like. The literacy device used was the bio a poem method, Bio poem is used to talk about yourself or a fictional character.
Bio Poem
Sydney
Humble, confident, Intelligent, charismatic
Daughter of Brad & Cheri Bakke
Lover of dogs, traveling, and cleanliness
Who feels eccentric when things go my way, performs well when focused
who appreciates the loved ones in her life, very thankful for my set boundaries
who gives her time, and help for those who need it most
who fears loss, and loneliness, bad hygiene and dry hands
who would like to like to visit the Islands and the streets of foreign cities
A resident of Sandiego, California

Re- creation Poem: Dirty girl looks
A narrow aisle of goods
Masks my view of dirty looks
Panicking as their eyes met mine
Tension burning in judgment
As my face is bright with rouge
Their stares weighted me down
I pull at my gloves
The tiny bell bringing the teacher
Her presence so bright
She made the gray december warm
As she let me leave school early
Select words from Gary Soto's poem " Oranges"

Response:
The setting of my re-creation poem," Dirty girl looks," is about high school girls giving dirty looks. The protagonist can be you or someone you might know who can relate to being judged. With the phrase " their stares weighted me down" I used this as a metaphor of stares being so vicious they felt as if they weighed you down making you feel powerless.
Re- creation Poem: Dirty girl looks
Response:
Writing this poem I wanted the reader to find hope in the meaning behind the repetition of "It's seven O' clock somewhere." I purposely used the number seven because it's known as the guardian angel's number and they use 777, as a coincidence to capture your attention something beautiful and awe-inspiring is happening or is about to happen in your life.
Stylistic Imitation Poem :
There are so many reasons to be happy
Stylistic Imitation Poem :
There are so many reasons to be happy
He is a bench in a desert
Seven O´ Clock somewhere
Feeling like a fish without water
And a bell without a ring
Seven O’Clock somewhere
It’s only a bad day not a bad life Seven O’Clock somewhere
Thank you God, Thank you God
Nobody realize how we open our eyes
Seven O’Clock somewhere
He gave us another life
It’s seven O´Clock
Seven O’Clock Somewhere
A babyś first breath
Seven O’Clock somewhere
A loss in their breath
Seven O´ Clock somewhere
Sheś a kite without a string
Seven O’Clock somewhere
The wind carried her away
Feeling like an Island
Seven O´ Clock somewhere
Imitation of Frederico Garcia Lorca's style in his poem "Llanto por ignacio Sanchez Mejias
Definition Poem : what's your energy
Energy: [enrjē], noun, the strength, and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity; a vibrancy, liveness, and spirit of life. When the skys light up with the burning sun; When birds and dogs alarm the neighborhood reminding everyone to wake up; When my phone is charged at one hundred percent; a neighbors warm goodmorning, loud, and wakeful; When I go for a morning run and smell the potent cut grass; When jumping around at midnight on a hotel bed ; when mom says dinner is ready , When class Isn’t untill eight, and I have two hours to get ready; When you find twenty bucks in your pocket; When you have time to go to starbucks
Definition Poem : what's your energyy
Response:
The word Energy stuck out to me the most because there are many positive relations to that word. My phrase "When birds and dogs alarm the neighborhood reminding everyone to wake up," I used symbolism to represent living things having the energy to alert us that it's a new day. Energy can be as little as going for a jog, the color yellow or greeting a neighbor. The definition is vibrancy, strength, and spirit of life.
Response:
The Man from Maine has to do with the struggles of long-distance love. This Limerick poem may be short, but there is a deeper meaning behind it all. This relationship is distant, yet they loved each other so much they both flew out to see one another, but she had flown out to Maine to surprise him as he flew to see her in her state making they both were thinking about each other so it was equal love and real.
Limerick Poem: Man from maine
Limerick Poem: Man from maine
There once was man from maine
who'd fallen in love with a woman from Spain
he went out to try
and aboarded to fly
To find out she flew to maine
