I am the remedy to injustice
I wonder what I can triumph over next
I hear a plea of help for she who suffers
I see the foundation of democracy crumbling beneath me
I want my rights to never be infringed
I am disheartened by the amount of corruption
I pretend my message advocates for change
I feel my potential has not yet been realized
I worry my actions might be vain, but it doesn’t stop me from trying
I cry a scream of freedom that rings throughout the land
I am Patriotism
I understand that separation leads to the dissolution of liberty
I say “we”, “our” and “us”
I dream for a future where my kids can live without fear
I try to demonstrate the extent of liberty to the rest of the world
I hope tyranny will never restrain me
I am the American people
I Am Poem: Faith

Robert,
Sarcastic, witty, stubborn, endearing
Friend of Narrie, Bradley and Alex
Lover of film, delectable foods and music
Who feels a sense of pride in oneself, determined for change, and attentive for all
Who needs time to explore adulthood, travel abroad, and discover the meaning of life
Who gives his thoughts, undivided attention, and emotions to those he cares about
Who fears separation, misguidance, and nihilism
Who would like to see the Himalayas Western-Europe, and the land of the rising sun
Resident of Santee, California
Lopez
Bio-Poem: Who Am I?
Recreation poem: Epiphany
I walked for miles in the cold
My breath before me, full of empty promises
I stay close, huddled with regret that I bear with me
Stranded in what seemed like a white pasture full of lies
Beneath the worries in which I lay dormant
I witness a light burning yellow, illuminating the darkness of where my heart fell
An epiphany, lighting a fire in my hands
Melting away my plight that is thick as ice
All my troubles I once harbored, released into the solution I once desired
I can see clearly, the fog disappearing from my subconscious
I am no longer weighed down and it is apparent
But the cold months of December always seem enlightening
Highlighted words are from Gary Soto’s Poem “Oranges”
Stylistic Imitation Poem: Winter had come early
At was eight-sixteen in the morning
It was eight-sixteen in the morning
Plane engines roar far above the rising sun
At eight sixteen in the morning
Wind breezed beneath the wings
At eight sixteen in the morning
His eyes stared into impending doom
At eight sixteen in the morning
A weapon that changed history forever
At eight sixteen in the morning
Commotion struck among the crowd
At eight sixteen in the morning
Dive-bombing through a sea of clouds
At eight sixteen in the morning
Complete decimation
At eight sixteen in the morning
Ash quickly spreads
At eight sixteen in the morning
So it be clear
At eight sixteen in the morning
Winter had come early
It was eight-sixteen in the morning
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s style in his poem “Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias"
Inconceivable: [In-conceive-able], adjective, adverb inconceivably
Incapable of being imagined or grasped mentally; unbelievable or absurd:
Prestigious in every degree; no matter how sharp the edge
Never slumped by failure
And never held back by the constraint of reality
Dreams are a mere coincidence and nothing else
But just goes to show
That even in the dark, there can be light
And here I am again,
At the base of the summit
Definition Poem: At the base of the summit
There once lived a man upon a hill
Who’s expression always remained still
The townspeople sneered
His name often smeared
And forgot to embrace his goodwill
Limerick: Who has the last laugh?
Gargy, oh sweet Gargy
I admire your ambitions
To eradicate those blue devils and smelt them dearly!
Their glow is like gold, a true precious metal
Wisp your wand high, and show them what you’re made of
Your elongated nose and perfect jawline
A true man doesn’t exist, but you’re the exception
Failure after failure, will lead to success
You’re a brilliant mind Gargy, don’t let that discourage you
I applaud with the masses, a real crowd pleaser
Your legacy shall live on, the scourge of Nod
Ode to Gargamel

I close my eyes just for a moment
The world is gray
The air now in silence
A crow flies across the flooding garden
The horizon’s shadow
Slowly leaks with color
I open my eyes
Light finds the window
A few birds are signing
The sun is up once again
Words from the novel The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Found Poem: Radiant
Knock Knock
Who’s at the door?
It’s half past four
Who have I brought?
Nonsense I just forgot
After you
Knock knock
I am at the door
Let me in
I’m here for supper
Am I not welcome?
Thank you
