Lily was a timid girl who had just turned ten years old. Her mother asked her, "Would you like to go to the amusement park tomorrow?"

Lily was very scared of roller coasters. She quietly responded, "Yes. I would love to." With fright on her face, she disappeared without a trace.

It was eight o' clock, Lily's bedtime. She had been both worried and excited about the amusement park all afternoon, but wanted to face her fears. If she got a good night's sleep, she could be energized and ready for the next day.

That night, Lily had a dream about going on a roller coaster. It was fun at first, but it shortly turned into a nightmare.
Lily was very frightened. Her room was as bright as a moonless midnight sky. Thinking to herself, Lily worried about going to the amusement park. What if the roller coaster was scary? What if the roller coaster will break? With fear and tension in her mind, she finally fell back asleep.

The next day, Lily and her mother left to go to the amusement park. On the way there, there was a radio advertisement about a new roller coaster at the park, bigger and scarier than all the rest.
Lily and her mother arrived at the park and were immediately met with the towering height of the new roller coaster. This scared Lily, but she got in the line anyway.
They went into the line and were almost at the roller coaster carts to ride. "Mom, I changed my mind. I do not want to go on the roller coaster," Lily stated quietly. Her mother listened to her and they both got out of line.

"Can we go to a different ride?" Lily questioned.
"Of course, Lily. How about we go to the carousel?"
Lily nodded her head and gave a brief smile.
